Home Plate

These are my Christmas Tree plates from Spode, inherited from my mom. The Christmas Tree pattern has been in circulation since 1938. Spode is even older, started in 1770! Each year dad would buy her a new Christmas Tree piece. In addition to the plates, I have tea cups, a cookie jar, water pitcher, the list goes on. My family said that whomever took the set had to continue our family tradition of a German dinner for Christmas Eve: Schnitzel, spaetzle, parsley potatoes, cucumber salad, red cabbage salad, and oxtail soup.
