Cookie Time

My longest childhood friends are sisters, twins, I’m practically the long lost triplet. Decades later, we are still close. We’ve got five kids between us, all within a few years apart, and to celebrate the holiday season each year, we forgo presents and get together for a cookie party.

This year felt extra important since we weren’t able to gather last year. Simple and outdoors is key. For the kids, I’ve got cookie decorating kits from @targetstyle and @susiecakesbakery. The adults are swapping homemade cookies. Anne made Compost cookies with a recipe from @milkbarstore and Emily made brown butter sugar cookies.

Candy-cane striped aprons tucked in with rubber spatulas and Santa plates were at each place setting for our cookie decorators. For lunch, I did a lox and @einsteinbros bagel spread, along with fruit and Caesar salads.

We all had so much fun. The kids are older so cookie decor was on point. And yet they are still young enough to enjoy wearing aprons and little Santa party hats. My kids said that it was the nicest cookie party so far, which is a gift in itself.
